Diagnostic: LEVEL 1

This level is used to evaluate each performers’ strengths and weaknesses so that the Den staff can make an accurate evaluation of where they should be placed on an ensemble. Scene and group work will be the focus.

1 PERFORMANCE
Pre-Requisite: at least 3 levels of long-form improv training.
Pre-Requisite: Zero Ego
Pre-Requisite: Lack of douchebag-ness
Filter: LEVEL 2

This level focuses on developing trust and ensemble through improvisation. It will delve deep into the philosophy of improvisation to find the best performer in each student—as well as exploring the power of group mind.

Pre-Requisite: Has completed Overture: Level 1
Pre-Requisite: Still Douchebag Free
Pre-Requisite: Empty Notebook / Empty Mind / Empty Calories

House Ensemble: LEVEL 3, 4 & 5
$275
After level 2, we will evaluate your progress and then place you on a house ensemble.
You will continue with this house ensemble for 3 more levels

Pre-Requisites: Has completed Level 2
Pre-Requisites: Thick Skin
Pre-Requisites: Thick Blood
 
 
Chapter 1B
$225/ 8 weeks/ 4 shows
8 person maximum
(Prerequisite: Completed level 4B or higher at iO program-- or a like program in long-form improvisation; minimum 2 years performing in a long-form ensemble)
This class will focus on honing the skills to make you the most effective communicator and teacher of advanced long-form improvisation. The class will work with a house ensemble at The Chicago Improv Den (with CID owner Dina Facklis) in both a class and a hands-on lab setting to demonstrate tried and true teaching and coaching techniques. It also includes 4 shows.
The Chicago Improv Den is constantly looking to increase its arsenal of teachers and coaches-- we're hoping to find new talent with this program.

Solo to Stage
$250 per person
Solo to Stage is a class devoted to getting you ready for solo performances-- whether you're cultivating a one-person show or an audition piece. (Instructor) will help you develop and hone material. The class ultimately culminates in 2 performances in January (these will be based upon your availability). Each January Sunday will close out with a written performance by a comedic veteran.
